Some of us have been waiting for a long time before putting TAG Heuer’s affordable and competitive tourbillon chronograph movement into a more elegant and understated packaging. The Heuer-02T was originally launched in 2016 as a futuristic, bulky, and sporty chronograph, equipped with one of the most affordable tourbillon movements among major Swiss watchmakers. As part of the TAG Heuer Carrera 60th anniversary celebration, this initial concept was transformed into the Luxury Tag Heuer Replica, now featuring a new blue dial version.
The following are the most important details that have changed in the eight years since the debut of TAG Heuer’s Heuer-02T (or Heuer02T). Firstly, this movement is now known as TH20-09, but the brand still occasionally refers to it as Heuer02T. The Cheap Tag Heuer Replica TH20-00 movement, including this TH20-09, is a development of the Heuer02T.
There is also a new pendulum design and a unique change in the overall aesthetics of the movement: TAG Heuer has chosen a more classic decoration, including brushed and striped surface treatment, instead of the traditional rhodium plated movement, to replace the dark, futuristic, and modern black coating on the Heuer02 and Heuer02T movements.
The power reserve and operating frequency remain unchanged at 65 hours and 4Hz, respectively. The former is 15 hours less than the non tourbillon Heuer02 (TH20-00), which is almost certainly due to the additional weight of the Tag Heuer Replica Watches component: perhaps the TH20-09 can still run for 80 hours after being fully wound, but in the past 15 hours, the mainspring has been unable to transmit enough torque to the escapement mechanism through the heavy tourbillon to maintain reliable timing.
As early as 2016, and every year thereafter, Heuer02T was not only praised for its highly aggressive pricing, but also for effectively shaming all long-standing brands that claim to pursue accuracy but actually do not support these claims. The reason why they are unwilling to submit the tourbillon is at least in part because, in reality, it is an absolutely painful thing to adjust and fine tune the tourbillon to obtain high timing performance.
The new TAG Heuer Carrera tourbillon Replica features a blue dial and may rely on its attractive design to justify its slightly higher price. The design of the watch is completely subjective, with a width of 42 millimeters, it looks more mature and elegant than early Heuer02T watches. Although it is still on the thicker side of 14.33 millimeters, the huge dome crystal and spectacular dial depth do make up for this.
